Life is far too interesting to spend it being well-behaved.
The Erotic Elsewhere is an independent digital publication dedicated to pleasure, curiosity, desire and the rather radical idea that your life should actually feel good to live.
We use the word erotic deliberately. Not because everything needs to be sexual, but because eroticism is also about being alive. Having an appetite. Losing yourself in a conversation, a city, a piece of music or something you’ve made with your own hands.
We’re interested in what happens when women stop making themselves smaller, stop mistaking self-denial for maturity and start paying attention to what they actually want.
Expect essays, cultural commentary, personal reflections and the occasional unpopular opinion on everything from intimacy and identity to beauty, ambition and the pleasures of everyday life.
We’re not here to tell you how to live. We’re far more interested in asking why you’re living the way you are.
After all, what’s the point of having a life if you never properly inhabit it?
What we write about
- Appetite: what you want, and how honestly you let yourself want it.
- Body Language: how being in your body feels.
- Room to Move: money, time, boundaries and the freedom to live how you choose.
- Out in the World: cities, nights out, food, travel and going places alone.
- Private Worlds: books, art, music, fantasy and the inner life.
